Man charged receiving $600,000 worth of meth paste in the mail

It was reported on May 3 that a 30-year-old man living in a Florida mobile home was arrested for trafficking meth after he had pottery made with meth paste shipped to him. Authorities said the man was taken into custody after he unknowingly enlisted an undercover officer to assist with turning the meth paste into a drug that could be sold.

A Polk County sheriff said that the three pieces of pottery that were shipped to the man's home were dipped in liquid methamphetamine before being sent from Mexico. Small decorative glass shards were then used to cover the meth paste and make the items look like beautiful pottery. The meth amounted to about 10 kilos of drugs. An additional 101 grams of meth paste, which was supposedly for personal use, was also recovered by the authorities.

Authorities said that the meth was worth about $600,000. The accused man was charged with drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a vehicle used to traffic drugs.

If a person is convicted on multiple drug charges, the consequences that they could face may depend on several factors. These factors potentially include the type of drug, whether or not the person has prior convictions and the amount of the drug the person was accused of being in possession of. A person who is facing drug charges could discuss the specifics of their case with a criminal law attorney who may create a defense strategy. If the evidence is inconsistent, the attorney may challenge the charges.
